Broadening the Petroleum Retail Infrastructure

Government have been working on ensuring availability and access of petroleum products to every corner of the country. Working in this directions OMCs have been coming out with advertisements to invite applications for new ROs and Gas dealerships.

As on 31st March, 2020, there are 307 Terminal/Depots including private companies, 196 LPG Bottling Plants, 69,087 Retail Outlets including private companies, 24,670 LPG Distributorships, 6,450 SKO/LDO Dealers in the country.

As a further step in this direction, MoPNG has come up with Authorization to Market MS/HSD Guidelines in November 2019 wherein the ministry has further liberalised the eligibility criteria for companies to open retail outlets for marketing petrol and diesel.
