Make In India
Introduction:
The Make in India initiative was launched by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India in September 2014 as part of a wider set of nation-building initiatives devised to transform India into a global design and manufacturing hub.
Initially, a policy to provide Purchase Preference linked with Local Content (PP-LC)) in all Public Sector Undertakings under Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, approved by the Government on 12.04.2017 was applicable on the procuring entities under this Ministry.
W.e.f. 01.04.2022, this Ministry has adopted Public Procurement (Preference to make in India) Order, 2017 issued by Department for Promotion of Industries and Internal Trade (DPIIT), for procuring entities under this Ministry.

Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan (Self Reliant India)
Under Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan, “Lakshya Bharat Portal” has been developed by EIL. This portal is accessible to all stakeholders i.e. the Government of India, all Oil and Gas PSUs, the manufacturers/ traders. The Portal has been conceptualized and developed to reflect information on procurement statistics of respective Oil Companies and to showcase opportunities for new entrepreneurs and existing manufacturers to expand their manufacturing base in India under the Make in India initiative.
Oil and Gas PSUs upload details of various items procured by them including the future demand on this portal. Thus, this Portal serves as a central information pool for sourcing of Capital Goods and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) items.

Oil and Gas PSUs are taking steps to indigenize various items being procured by them. This Ministry regularly monitors the progress of indigenization activities of Oil and Gas PSUs.
